2. P20876 - Lynette Bartsch admires the antique pocket watch in the hands of her father, George, in his jewelry store. The traffic brought into the store for the Matsqui Days activities has been good, with 40 watches brought in, with the oldest in working condition was 180 years old. Winner of the new clock was Mrs L Ewert of Clearbrook and the winner of a new watch was R H Green of Bradner. Matsqui Days was organized by Reeve J A Murphy and was meant as introduction to the Airshow and the Gladiolus Show, both occurring on the same weekend. Many residents, especially local business workers and owners, dressed in centennial clothing, and participated in many different events occurring on the streets until 9pm, when the stores closed. Events included drag races, square dancing, fireworks, automobile displays, petting zoos and bargains and good buys in the stores. The events end Friday evening with a fireworks display under the direction of the Matsqui Fire Department.

3. P21212 - George Bartsch seated behind a table displaying several model aircraft with remote controlled motors and four feet wing spreads to an unidentified young man to the left. Mrs T Lindsay and Mrs B Loeppky were the conveners of the event, and Anges Fraser provided baked goods. Mrs Stady, Miss Fear and Mrs O Bennett presided at the apron and book stall while Mrs L Hodges sold Christmas gift wrap. Members of the Canadian Girls In Training (CGIT) sold homemade candy, and Mrs C Mouldey was in charge of the plant stall. Members of the Senior Hi-C lent their faces for the makeup display and Junior Hi C ran films for the younger spectators, with the help of Roy Craven. Scouts of A troop assisted in parking transport, setting up and cleaning up. Mrs Don McKinnon and her helpers served refreshments in the lower hall.
