This year's trophy went to Sam Vandermeulen seen accepting it from the famous athlete, co-holder of the 100 meter record in 10 seconds flat and a bronze medalist at the Tokyo Olympics. On Jerome's right are Kinsmen Eldon Bartsch and Bob Reichardt. Other district athletes to receive trophies were Vic Rahn, Dennis Neumann, Don Wallace and Tim Crombie. Jerome's trainer, John Minicello, was guest speaker for the evening.
