Canadian Red Cross, in celebration of its centennial honoured people of Matsqui, Sumas and Abbotsford for diligent service to the Red Cross. Certificates commending the citizens were presented at a meeting by the MSA Chapter executive. Long time members in the organization made the presentation to the reeves. Peter Martens presented the Sumas ceritifcate which was accepted on behalf of Reeve Alex Hougen by Mrs. J D Leavitt. Reeve J A Murphy accepts the Matsqui certificate from Mrs. M V Heywood and M M Shore, chairman of the Abbotsford Village commission accepts the Abbotsford certificate from E E McDougall. |
