Local winners at the Highland Games, held June 11th in Queen’s Park, New Westminster. At left is thirteen year old Valerie Stout, who placed second in the Novice March in the piping competitions. Fourteen year old Sandy Shatford, also a piper, took first place in the Juvenile March, third in the Juvenile Strathspay and reel and scored the high aggregate in the Juvenile Class. Joan Thompson won honors in the dancing competitions with a second in the Highland Fling and second in the Shean Triubhas. |
