Three clerks dressed in 1890s garb, with clerk Mrs John Enns on the far right, during Matsqui Days in Clearbrook. Matsqui Days was organized by Reeve J A Murphy and was meant as introduction to the Airshow and the Gladiolus Show, both occurring on the same weekend. Many residents, especially local business workers and owners, dressed in centennial clothing, and participated in many different events occurring on the streets until 9pm, when the stores closed. Events included drag races, square dancing, fireworks, automobile displays, petting zoos and bargains and good buys in the stores. The events end Friday evening with a fireworks display under the direction of the Matsqui Fire Department. |
