Description |
Winning a berth in the Provincial High School Basketball Finals, held at the University of British Columbia were the Mennonite Educational Institute Eagles. The Eagles and the Abbotsford Panthers battled it out Saturday night at the Simon Fraser University in an important game which decided the third and final berth from the Valley League. After the dust had settled, the final score of 33 to 27 allowed MEI to continue on in the tournament. Members of the team are front row left to right, Dan Doerksen, Rudy Teichroeb, Rick DeFehr, Jack Falk and Ed Balzer. Back row are Ron Ratzlaff, John Braun, Bill Warkentin, Dave Loewen, Marv Friesen and Menno Wiebe. Coach is Jake Braun. |
