Objects belonged to donor's mother, Phyllis, who was born in Brockville, Ontario and came to the Fraser Valley as a young bride where she and her husband, donor's father, Harry, were among the first settlers of Sumas Prairie. She lived at Longacres Jersey Farms, founded by her husband, a dairy farmer and life member of the B. C. Jersey Breeders Assoc., on Quadling Road. Phyllis enjoyed travelling, gardening and cooking as evidenced by the number of kitchen gadgets included in the collection. |
