Certificate of Merit from the Canadian Cancer Society, only the second such certificate in B C, was presented in a ceremony Thursday at Abbotsford Village Hall. Chairman M M Shore of the Abbotsford Village council, honourary president of the MSA unit, right, made the presentation. Matsqui reeve, J A Murphy and Sumas councilor R J Ross, back row, spoke of the service he has rendered residents of their respective municipalities. Ambulance was built by the Superior Coach Company of Lima, Ohio. Weight of the vehicle, a long wheel base Bonneyville, Pontiac is nearly three tonnes. This ambulance is the most modern of its kind. The Ambulance is share by the three municipalities (Village of Abbotsford, Sumas and Matsqui) on an assessment basis and is administered by a committee drawn from the three councils. The vehicle will be kept at the MSA General Hospital under the care of driver Ben Ratzlaff. Vehicle appears to be parked on South Fraser Way, with an Insurance business visible in the background, on the opposite side of the road on the right. Also in the very far background, a series of apartment buildings are visible.
