The league, in its second year, split the schools in to West and East leagues, with six teams in each league.

3. P21756 - Philip Sheffield Elementary Boys team, winners of the District 34 Elementary Boys Volleyball Championship. The tournament was held at Abbotsford Senior Secondary School. Ten schools took part: King, Alexander, Aberdeen, Upper Sumas, Clearbrook, Matsqui, Godson, North Popular, South Poplar and Philip Sheffield. Matsqui Elementary was the favourite initially, but was defeated by a Clearbrook team and took third place. Alexander Elementary, despite a tough right, took fourth place in the tournament. Clearbrook won second after being defeated by Philip Sheffield in two close games.

5. P49121 - Presenting Brian Smith with the St Andrassy Perpetual Trophy at the Rod and Gun Club meeting are Bob and Johnny St Andrassy. The trophy is awarded for making 100 percent on his government exam and obtaining (obscured) scores in the shooting contest during the 13-week training course. Larry Elston, right, received the District 34 Bus Drivers Runner-up Trophy. Wrist watches were presented to Jean Watson and Scott Murray for outstanding work. Dorothy St Andrassy donated the Perpetual Trophy.
